About

Roasted in Ladadika since 2017

BrewCraft began with two roasters and a borrowed Giesen W6A in a 38m² shop on Iktinou street. Eight years later we still roast every bag in front of customers, still buy from three farms, and still answer the phone ourselves.

How it started

How it started

Stelios and Anneke met on a Q-grader cupping course in Trieste and married a year later. He had spent six years on bar in Melbourne; she had trained as a roaster at De Beren Coffee in Utrecht.

They leased a narrow shopfront in Ladadika and put a 5kg Giesen behind a glass wall so that every customer could watch green turn to amber turn to mahogany. The first crowd-funded sack came from Suke Quto, Ethiopia, and was roasted on opening day in front of forty friends.

Values

What we believe

Four things we will not trade away, written plainly so you can hold us to them.

Direct, not just specialty

We visit every farm we buy from and publish the FOB price on every bag. Where a coffee is not direct trade, the bag says so.

Roast to order, always

Beans ship within 48 hours of the roast date. We would rather be out of stock than sell you a bag roasted last month.

Hospitality first

A great cup poured by an indifferent barista is just liquid. We hire for warmth and teach the rest.

Honest about taste

If it tastes of celery we write celery on the bag. We will not invent stone fruit to make a lot sell faster.
